BANGALORE, DHNS: World Council for Corporate Governance (WCCG) on Friday urged  Indian businesses  to head the drive to combat climate change  by funding green projects. WCCG is jointly launching an environment initiative here along with World  Environment Foundation.

Speaking to presspersons here, WCCG President, Madhav Mehra said on June 5, the initiative  “PROACTIVATE” , an 11-point model of growth developed by UK- based WCCG  and  World Environment Foundation, will be launched as part of World Environment Week.

As part of the initiative, a human chain will be formed by Bangaloreans, pledging support for the initiative to secure the future of the planet. Children from various schools will taken part in the human chain, Mehra Said.

The city will also witness a host of activities to commemorate World Environment Week including cleaning of Children’s parks by volunteers, sapling planting and also an environment signature campaign from June 1-4, across the City.
